Brazil - VAM

Over decades, Vallourec has supported the development of tubular solutions for increasingly challenging applications in the Brazilian offshore. This legacy has recently been reinforced with a new milestone: the first open sea run of 18” VAM® LOX casing in Petrobras’ Roncador field, located in the Campos Basin.

Designed to withstand harsh deepwater conditions, the VAM® LOX premium connection combines key features that make a difference in critical operations: mechanical durability under complex loading conditions, reliability supported by an extensive qualification testing program, operational efficiency, and safety during string makeup and installation, providing product and application alternatives for Petrobras.

This achievement represents more than just an operational success – it reflects Vallourec’s ability to understand the market’s needs and transform them into mature and robust technological solutions, developed over years to address a wide range of offshore demands.

This success was driven by a structured and well-planned approach, integrating the engineering and operations teams of both companies. From product design to operational planning, the teams worked collaboratively and transparently, developing and refining procedures that incorporate the operator’s field experience and deep application expertise. As a result, the first 18” VAM® LOX run was carried out with a high level of reliability and safety, setting important benchmarks for future operations.

Vallourec moves forward with focus on innovation, safety, and operational excellence, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the sustainable development of the offshore industry in Brazil.
