Thulio’ story at Vallourec is one of perseverance, technical mastery, and continuous growth. Today, as a Technical Sales Engineer for OCTG, he serves as a strategic link between Petrobras and Vallourec, ensuring that every solution delivers maximum performance in the field. His role combines engineering expertise, customer proximity, and innovation, qualities that have defined his career from the very beginning.

Building Expertise Step by Step
Thulio started his journey on the factory floor as a threading machine operator, learning firsthand how Vallourec products are manufactured and controlled. Over time, he moved to the Brazilian Connection Testing Center (VRCCB), where he managed safety, production, and quality, and led CNC programming. This experience gave him a complete view of the product lifecycle, from steel to well, preparing him for the challenges ahead.
Driving Strategic Impact
Today, Thulio plays a key role in high-level negotiations and technical decisions. He was instrumental in securing LTA 25 with Petrobras, the largest contract ever signed between Vallourec and Petrobras, a milestone that required introducing technologies like CLEANWELL®, optimizing processes at VSB, and aligning multiple teams for operational excellence. He also contributed to the development of advanced connections such as VAM® LOX OpenSea, VAM® HP II, and VAM® TTR HW, meeting demanding offshore requirements.
