Safety Awards 2025: Honoring Excellence in Brazil and Uganda

At Vallourec, safety is not an option. It’s a prerequisite. As part of our CAP 2030 roadmap, Vallourec celebrates the exemplary Health & Safety performance of its teams across the globe. This year, the Safety Awards 2025 were presented to two outstanding entities: Vallourec Florestal in Brazil and the yard of Vallourec Oil & Gas Uganda. These awards reflect our collective commitment to deploying our Safety standards, strengthened by our Together We’re Safer Health & Safety culture.
Vallourec in Uganda: 1,085 Days Without Accidents
The Vallourec Yard in Uganda has achieved an exceptional milestone: 1,085 consecutive days without a single accident. Operating in a geographically and operationally complex environment, the team built a strong health & safety culture from day one.
Alejandro Baiz, Global Sales & Operations Optimization, personally presented the award, praising the team’s “unwavering commitment to safety, discipline, and teamwork”.
Erwan Le Gouadec, Managing Director Vallourec Oil and Gas Uganda, emphasized: “Among all Vallourec plants and service centers worldwide, Uganda set the bar high from the very beginning. This recognition means a lot to our teams, especially for modest operation compared to other Group sites”.

“The team has demonstrated a strong safety-first mindset, successfully building a site from scratch under challenging conditions. Their ability to embed safety into every action, combined with a clearly visible culture of continuous improvement, is truly commendable,” emphasized Nicolas Incarnato, Group Health & Safety Director.
This award celebrates more than just results. It honors a mindset and exemplary leadership.
Vallourec Florestal: A Bold Transformation in Brazil
Vallourec Florestal received the Safety Award 2025 for its outstanding Health & Safety performance. The award was based on safety results, performance indicators in prevention, and the implementation of standards, along with a qualitative assessment conducted by the jury. All aligned with the CAP 2030 roadmap.

The award was presented by Bertrand Frischmann, Group Chief Operations Officer, to André Dezanet, General Manager of Vallourec Florestal, during the 2nd Accident Prevention Plan Meeting in Curvelo (MG).
After a challenging period, the Florestal team chose to shift into high gear to transform its safety culture.
As Nicolas Incarnato noted: “After facing challenging times, the Florestal team made a bold decision last year to shift gears and elevate their safety performance, driven by strong leadership and a renewed commitment. The results speak for themselves: visible progress, undeniable momentum, and a culture that embraces safety as a continuous journey.”
This recognition positions the Brazilian unit as a global reference in Health & Safety within the Group, reinforcing its commitment to operational excellence and care for people.
A Shared Safety Culture
From Brazil to Uganda, these two teams fully embody our Together We’re Safer culture, and last year, they truly made a step change in Safety. Their journeys remind us that safety is not just about rules, even though they are essential, but about leadership, mindset, and collective responsibility.
Congratulations to both teams for these inspiring achievements, which encourage us all to aim for excellence across every site.
