As part of Vallourec’s ongoing industrial and strategic engagement in China, Group Chief Operations Officer, Bertrand Frischmann, visited the country mid-July, accompanied by Eastern Hemisphere Industrial Director, Mathieu Barreau. The visit marked a key moment in Vallourec’s ambition to strengthen its footprint in China.

On July 15, the delegation visited the Tianda site in Chuzhou (Anhui province), where they reviewed operations and reinforced the Group’s standards of industrial excellence. The agenda focused on four strategic pillars:

  • Safety, with the rollout of the Health & Safety Cap 2030 roadmap
  • Digitalization, through the acceleration of Industry 4.0 initiatives
  • Performance, aligned with the Operational Excellence targets for 2025
  • Competitiveness, by enhancing quality and delivery standards

“By deploying the Health & Safety Cap 2030 roadmap, reinforcing our Operational Excellence system, and accelerating our transition to Industry 4.0, we are evolving our management from ‘Good to Great’, driving the Group’s strategic vision forward.”

On July 16, the delegation met with Chuzhou municipal authorities, including Deputy Mayor Gong Zhiping and representatives of the Economic Development Zone. Discussions centered on Vallourec’s long-term development in the region, industrial policy support, and future cooperation opportunities. The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment to a strategic and mutually beneficial partnership.

This two-day visit reflects Vallourec’s ambition to position its Chinese sites as key industrial levers, while deepening institutional ties and promoting sustainable growth in the region.
