FineXcell® is Vallourec's most advanced series of high-strength fine-grain steels, providing the perfect combination of properties for use in the most demanding yet cost-effective steel structures. Meticulously controlled chemical compositions and advanced heat treatment methods plus the comprehensive know-how and expertise of Vallourec are the prerequisites for achieving a homogeneous fine-grained microstructure which, in turn, permits the combination of three important yet difficult to reconcile properties: high strength, good impact toughness and excellent weldability.

 

Applications

FineXcell® grades can achieve yield strength levels up to an impressive 1000 MPa. Innovative crane construction, weight-optimized load-bearing structures, precision hydraulic cylinders and other high-tech steel components under particularly high stresses are therefore the ideal application areas for FineXcell®.
