Stadiums

Application

Looking back at recent Olympics, World and European Championships in popular sports such as soccer we have experienced stadium buildings with spectacular, sometimes even movable roof constructions. Many of them were built using MSH sections by Vallourec as visible yet filigree supporting structures.

Challenges

Supporting constructions for roofs spanning all seating areas and the playground have almost become a standard in the design of modern sport arenas and multifunctional stadiums. The roof constructions are expected to be unsupported in order to offer all spectators a visually undisturbed view of the action. Furthermore, they have become an indispensable feature for a multifunctional stadium building which hence may be used regardless of season and weather conditions.

Products and Solutions

The structures of roofs and stands in the main arena as well as the facade structures of the stadium's main building - including hotel, conference, catering and lobby areas - may use the many advantages of MSH sections for a spectacular and highly efficient design.
