In the market for existing windmills and developing windparks in North Sea and Baltic areas there is a growing demand for high quality hollow sections in a variety of applications - both in superstructures and subsea environments. Windmills may apply MSH sections as structural material for boatlandings and supports as well as for J-tubes (cable passages) and as anode rings required for rust protection.



Where tubular constructions are exposed to harsh environmental conditions with temperatures frequently well below freezing point, mechanical properties of structural material become increasingly important. The main objectives are easy rust protection and reduced inspection cycles of the structures.


Products and Solutions

The standard program of MSH sections includes a variety of solutions suitable for windmill applications. Vallourec also offers special grade series like Oceanfit® to cope with the specific demands of offshore applications. With PREON® marine we are developing an innovative system for offshore wind turbine foundations.

  • MSH Sections grade S355NH acc. to EN 10210 with restricted CEV
  • Grade S355G1+N, S355G14+N or S355G14+QT, S355G15+N or S355G15+QT acc. to EN 10225
  • Grade S355J2H acc. to EN 10210 with modified mechanical properties
  • Special Corner Radii up to max. 1 x T upon request
