VM 22 140 is a Corrosion Resistant Alloy. It is iron based plus main alloying elements Cr, Ni and Mo. The PRE is above 35. Structure is Duplex (austenite and ferrite). VM22 140 is delivered in cold work condition. It can be hardened by drawing or pilgering.
VM 22 140 is recommended when pCO2 is above 2psi / 0.14bar with chlorine. Acceptable temperature is up to 450°F / 232°C. Some partial pressure of H2S is acceptable depending on temperature of use.
VM 22 140 can be used as tubing or casing.
VM 22 140 has been tested from room to high temperature for SCC and SSC with different levels of H2S.
