Steam Piping System

The piping system in the conventional island drives the high pressure steam coming from the secondary system in the nuclear island towards the steam turbine in the conventional island.

The piping system in the conventional island is usually subject to less stringent rules regarding safety than the one in the nuclear island. Moreover the service temperature and pressure are lower than in the fossil-fueled power plant. Hence, the carbon or alloyed ferritic steels are sufficient for this application. Vallourec delivers all these pipes in outside diameter up to 1,500 mm thanks to the comprehensive product range of our mills.
