Monday, November 24, 2014 – Vallourec, the world leader in premium tubular solutions, and Centrale Lille signed a partnership agreement on Thursday, November 20, 2014. This agreement cements the long-standing relationship between the two partners and strengthens their ability to work together.
The motivation for their collaboration comes from, on the one hand, the proximity of Ecole Centrale de Lille to the Vallourec facilities at Aulnoye-Aymeries and Saint Saulve, which have long been flagship sites for the Group. In addition, Centrale Lille's high-quality teaching trains elite students in areas that correspond to Vallourec's target activities. In the face of increasingly complex energy challenges, Vallourec, a high-tech industrial group, is following through on its commitment to innovation by seeking out individuals with relevant experience in the oil and gas, power generation, and industrial sectors.
We are particularly looking for individuals with experience in production (methods engineering, maintenance, ongoing improvement), research and development (project managers, materials engineer-researchers, mechanical engineers), IT (industrial IT, networks and telecommunications, ERP), and support roles (management control, marketing, technical support).
Pierre Maisonneuve, Human Resources Director for France at Vallourec, stated: "Vallourec provides opportunities to forward-thinking engineers who are interested in technical fields. Our partnership with Centrale Lille is in line with our school-relations policy: working together with select schools that share our values and our passion for the industry."
In seeking out talented individuals, Vallourec has set up action plans in conjunction with select schools (engineering and business schools and universities), with plant visits, round tables on particular topics, and professional and scientific projects organized throughout the year, so that students can learn more about the Group's careers, expertise, and values.
In France, Vallourec has already partnered with Ecole Centrale Paris, ICAM Lille, and ENSIAME. Every year the company organizes around sixty activities in fifteen schools, with the active participation of engineers who are alumni of these schools and who are now part of the Vallourec school ambassador network.
