Vallourec is partnering with the 2014 Trophées des femmes de l'industrie (Women In Industry Awards), which is organized every year by the French magazine "L'Usine Nouvelle". The Group took part in selecting the winners for the eleven categories including "Women In Innovation," "Women In R&D," "Women In Projects," "Women In Sustainable Development," "International Women" and 'Women In Production."
Vallourec supported this final category by rewarding a woman working in production with an exemplary career. The winner succeeded in a particularly masculine world and proved her passion for the industry, the production process and the technologies, while also showing real managerial qualities. Stephanie Fougou, General Counsel and Member of the Group Management Committee of Vallourec, presented the Award to Corinne Spilios, Director of the Mulhouse production centre of PSA Peugeot Citroën.
With this partnership, Vallourec intends to send a clear message to women who wish to join the Group and to reaffirm its commitment to equal opportunities. "The industry is traditionally very masculine," said François Curie, Group Human Resources Director. "We are committed to changing this tendency by increasing the presence of women in production roles and encouraging them to rise to managerial posts. The action plan we deployed in 2012 is already bearing fruit: the share of women in operational roles (production, sales and R&D) is increasing, as well as the number of women in managerial staff. We are firmly committed to equal opportunities between men and women and more broadly to diversity, which is one of Vallourec's strengths."
