Concerned with respecting the ethical values defined in its Code of Ethics, Vallourec is committed to conducting its business across the globe complying with national, European and international rules and regulations. In particular, Vallourec has made a commitment to fight against corruption in all its forms.
The certification process
In order to strengthen its approach, the Group has decided to initiate an anti-corruption certification process with ETHIC Intelligence, an independent and internationally renowned agency, which has certified many companies, such as Airbus, Nexans, Alstom, Engie, Schneider Electric, etc.
On October 3rd, Vallourec obtained the certification of its anti-corruption program, which certifies that the Group, as part of its compliance program has put in place a system to prevent, detect and limit the risk of fraud, which complies with the best practices required by the most recent European, but also American and Brazilian regulations. The Group has therefore defined the appropriate internal procedures to prevent the risk of corruption, particularly with regard to hiring sales representatites or those concerning gifts and hospitality. An online "Mission Compliance" educational module is mandatory for all employees and face-to-face training is offered to the most exposed employees, in all regions of the world.
"This certification is the result of Vallourec's commitment and the strong involvement of all of our Group's employees in conducting our business in an ethical manner, in accordance with the values and principles of our Code of Ethics and our internal procedures. In the current competitive environment, this recognition of our anti-corruption action is a major differential asset to which our customers are particularly sensitive," said Philippe Crouzet.
As a continuation of its global compliance program, Vallourec has set up an online alert system, the "Vallourec Integrity Line" which makes it possible to report any behavior that is contrary to the values and principles of the Code of Ethics, particularly with regard to anti-competitive practices, corruption, harassment, discrimination, illegal use of personal data, etc. This system is open to all Group employees.
