​​The World Conference on biodiversity held in Nagoya (Japan) from October 18 to 29.
Well aware of the importance of this environmental challenge, Vallourec conducts plant and wildlife monitoring programmes to measure the impacts of its activities on the natural environment. In its responsible commitment, the Group implements appropriate management strategies to preserve and balance the sensitive ecosystems. In Brazil, the Group cultivates eucalyptus plantations to produce charcoal for use as a source of energy for the steel mill. An ecological reserve and corridors of native forest have been created to promote conservation of many animal and plant species.
