Holding a university degree in political science, Attilio initially considered becoming a diplomat. He later trained in Petroleum Economics at IPS (Oxford Academy) and worked in Marketing & Sales in major corporations such as Pirelli and General Electric.
Based in an office in downtown Milan, Attilio is currently General Manager of Vallourec Italy, as well as Key Account Manager. One of his main responsibilities consists in handling relationships with Italian clients, such as the Oil major Eni.
"Today, within Vallourec, I work with most functions: sales executives, of course, but also colleagues from legal, marketing, audit and IT departments. Representing the Group in a country also means knowing and successfully applying Vallourec's best practices in all areas." Attilio also interacts with external stakeholders like suppliers, consultants and institutions, such as the French Consulate and Embassy, who support transalpine businesses by sharing valuable local economic information.
His versatile nature is very useful to Attilio, even though he thinks his main asset is experience. His combination of confidence, knowledge and empathy has helped Attilio in creating trusting relationships with current and potential clients, which is a necessary advantage in his job.
Many in the industry describe Vallourec as "una bella società" ("a great company"). He adds: "it's the best reward and vindication for choosing to work here, ten years ago."
