Middle East

Vallourec's business activities in the Middle East are mostly centered around the oil and gas sector (OCTG tubes, VAM® connections, line pipes, drill pipes and accessories, and petrochemicals). The Group also operates in the fields of power generation and industry.

Vallourec has expanded its presence in the region through the acquisition of two companies specialized in the manufacture of drill pipes and accessories in the United Arab Emirates in 2009 and 2010.

In 2011, thanks to the acquisition and then the modernization of Vallourec Saudi Arabia (previously Zamil Pipes) in Saudi Arabia, Vallourec became the first OCTG market leader to have a premium finishing unit in the area, making it possible to supply the world's biggest oil company, Saudi Aramco, which is owned by the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Also in 2011, Vallourec opened Vallourec Middle East, a new sales platform in Jebel Ali (35 kilometers, or 22 miles, from Dubai). This hub provides local tailor-made logistics support services, part of the range of services offered by VAM Global Solutions in particular.

Amongst its most significant new achievements, Vallourec notably registered significant orders of OCTG products from Saudi Arabia.
