Vallourec Star announces Youngstown leadership changes

Vallourec announces the appointment of Joel C. Mastervich, to Executive Vice President of Operations/Industrial Director, OCTG North America. Mastervich was formerly President and Chief Operating officer of Vallourec Star. M. Judson Wallace assumes the position of President of Vallourec Star. Eric Shuster becomes President of VAM USA. The new assignments are effective August 1, 2013.

In his new role, Masterich will drive the operations and industrial integration of Vallourec’s North America OCTG companies in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Mastervich joined Vallourec Star in 2005 and was named President in April 2010. He holds a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Wallace has been on temporary assignment as Project Director for the Vallourec Star new seamless pipe mill project in Youngstown since April 2012. He previously served as President of VAM USA, a Vallourec subsidiary. Wallace earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Houston.

Shuster, Vallourec Star general manager of the Youngstown melt shop and pipe mill, has been promoted to President of VAM USA. Shuster began his career with the company (formerly North Star Steel) in 1988. Shuster is a graduate of the Executive MBA program at Youngstown State University and earned a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering at the University of Cincinnati.
