Nicolas de Coignac, Senior VP Vallourec & President North America, welcomed customers during Vallourec’s annual OTC event yesterday in Houston, Texas. Read excerpts from his message:
“Dear customers, dear colleagues, ladies and gentlemen. It is a real pleasure and privilege for me to welcome you to this annual Vallourec’s OTC appreciation event. It is our way to express our recognition to our end-users and distribution partners for your support, your loyalty and your trust.
One year ago, we were all in the middle of a storm like no other our industry had ever experienced. This storm changed the world we lived in. It changed your expectations and priorities, looking for innovative, more efficient, competitive solutions.
For us, it changed the way of working together, doing business, reinforcing close cooperation with our customers, enhancing product development, accelerating the time-to-market, working hard to reduce costs and improve the company’s efficiency, capacity and productivity.
All these actions were part of Vallourec’s ambitious transformation plan to strengthen our competitiveness, innovation spirit and customer proximity. Our efforts have proved successful. Thanks to this plan, our group is now a leaner organization, offering customers an expanded portfolio of smart solutions that are both highly premium and highly competitive.
More than ever, Vallourec is deeply committed to the oil and gas operators in North America. Our pledge remains steadfast to address your quest for high value solutions, lower total cost of ownership, while also providing reliability and sustainability.
As anticipated, the oil and gas rebound started in North America. Our operations underwent significant streamlining to improve competitiveness and adapt to the sharp fall in demand caused by the oil price crash. We are working on huge savings opportunities by uniting our efforts in close collaboration with our distributors, the operators, the EPCs, the contractors and service companies to make all of us successful, together.
As leader on the market, our domestic seamless pipe mills have rallied as the market recovers, providing the flexibility and responsiveness to address your needs with short lead times and creative solutions, without ever compromising on our values on safety and quality. This is why I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the North America teams who took up the challenge so efficiently.

The event was also attended by team members representing Vallourec’s product lines for onshore and offshore applications, upstream and downstream: drilling, OCTG, risers, line pipe, thermal applications, specialized welding.
