Aiming at becoming more and more competitive, Vallourec is always investing in initiatives which optimize productivity and add value to its products. After audits carried out in late June and early July, the Jeceaba plant was recommended for certification, as to the following internationally recognized standards:
§ ISO 14001: 2015 (Environmental Management System);
§ ISO 50001: 2011 (Energy Management System);
§ OHSAS 18001: 2007 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System).
The preparation work was started in April 2017 and involved the integration of both administrative and operational areas, in order to meet the requirements required by each of these standards. During the audits, it was possible to point out the implementation of the actions which ensured the implementation of the regulatory requirements, as well as the certification itself.
Highly valued by customers, these certifications are required by some of them. "Thus, by achieving them, we increase competitiveness and strengthen our presence in the market," says Daiana Couto, member of the Integrated Management System. In addition to these gains, the three standards reinforce both concepts of sustainability and safety of all employees, which are Vallourec's main commitments." This is so because they attest to the Company's commitment to environmental practices, energy efficiency and the preservation of health and safety in the workplace. Together, they further value our products and processes," she said.
Like all certifications, one needs to ensure the continuous improvement of the system in order to maintain it." This way, the role of all of us is to keep committed, so that our next assessment shows an even more evolved scenario," says Daiana.
